During his childhood, he attempted to learn Mridangam, but his Radio-Ceylon famed Mridangam teacher gave up on him after a few months. Their daughter Harini, a sophomore at Woodward Academy recently had her solo dance debut -Bharathanatyam arangetram! Dr. Indrakrishnan is known for his tenacity. When he was a kid, painful batons charge by the police and even death of a few people during the stampede by the mammoth crowd gathered to watch his idol MGR's Ulagam Sutrum Valipan movie on the very first day of release in the theater did not deter him from the scene! Not only did he achieve his goal that day but he continued this routine religiously as he advanced to the high school and now he has a huge collection of all the nostalgic MGR movies which enjoys watching in his own theater at home. He humbly admits that his passion for Tamil language and relentless community service is strongly influenced by his charismatic role model MGR. Following his role model’s footsteps, although born as a Hindu, he believes that God is one and he helps & contributes to worship places of all religions. Ever on the go, Dr. Indrakrishnan spends whatever little leisure time he gets in gardening, reading, watching movies, listening to music and attending cultural programs with his family and friends.

Dr. Indrakrishnan’s purpose-driven life motivated by a fierce endeavor to give back-to the community certainly inspires emulation.
