GAPI elects new office bearers

Atlanta, GA: Dr. Sreeni Gangasani, Dr. Abhishek Gaur and Dr. Piyush Patel have been elected unanimously as president, secretary and treasurer, respectively for the Georgia Association of Physicians of Indian heritage (GAPI) for 2010-2011. Dr. Dilip Patel is president-elect and Dr. Santanu Das is the past president.

Speaking to India Tribune, Dr. Gangasani said that he felt honored and humbled to accept the post of GAPI president, and promised to do his best to take the GAPI to the next level. He lauded the outgoing president, Dr. Santanu Das, for his hard work, determination, and drive. He thanked all the past and current members of the Board of Trustees and Board of Directors for their hard work they put in over the years, and sponsors for their support. He would like to make GAPI Web site more interactive for the members.

He welcomed new members of his team, and added that he would strive to organize more health fairs in different parts of Georgia and strengthen the ties with organizations like GIACC, Vibha and Sewa International.

Dr. Sreeni Gangasani is Atlanta's well known and respected cardiologist with Cardiovascular Group, PC, in Gwinnett County. With his leadership qualities, compassion, volunteerism and "can do" spirit, GAPI is expected to forge ahead.

Georgia Association of Physicians of Indian Heritage (GAPI) was established in 1987. From informal meetings it became a fully organized entity due to vision of its founding physicians. It has been in existence for over 20 years and now serves more then 1,200 physicians across Georgia. GAPI has more than 200 life members.
